I brainstormed some ideas for co-op/multi player combat for my game in order to finalise my combat concepts.

Here are some of my ideas from my multi player game ideas:

1)Fighter

  •  Players face each other in a hack and slash type fighting stage
  •  Tap, swipe, and accelerometer motions deal different attacks
  •  First player with empty health bar loses
  •  microphone special attacks with special charge bar
  • Player sending invite chooses stage

2)Colour battle continues

  •  Same mechanics as fighting minions and boss (use colour buttons to match colour of opponent)
  •  accelerometer special attacks with special charge bar
  •  First player with empty health bar loses
  •  Player sending invite chooses stage

3)Colour combo challenge (reaction time)

  •  Both players have a range of ammo buttons for colours (six colour buttons instead of three)
  •  the screen shows minion in grey which changes colour quite quickly
  • players must hit the same colour in their ammo buttons as is displayed on the minion
  •  the fastest player earns the points

 

Out of these Ideas I think I am going to go with the “colour battle continues”, because it flows the best with the rest of the game, keeping the theme of a colour war. it also sets a definite theme for both single and multi player games and is less likely to be affected by lag than a reaction time game.
